Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing, and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Sr. Radar Systems Engineer based in Mount Laurel, NJ. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT aims to accelerate capability development, enhance operational readiness, and reduce lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. The company is dedicated to transforming defense systems through innovation, efficiency, and mission-critical results.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Radar Systems Engineer with Subject Matter Expertise in Aegis Combat System radar components, specifically SPY-1D/D(V) or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Radar Control Computer (RCC) and Radar Signal Processor (SigPro), including diagnostics, software-hardware interaction, and performance tuning for Aegis Baseline 7/9. The candidate should have a demonstrated understanding of real-time radar system operation, waveform generation, and digital signal processing techniques. This position involves working closely with IWS Navy stakeholders, advisors, and national laboratories for implementing new capabilities.

All applicants must currently possess an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Develop, integrate, and test new capabilities into the existing Aegis Baseline system to support a future demonstration
2. Analyze data to uncover trends, insights, and recommendations for performance assessment
3. Support testing and live firings

Minimum Required Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience with Aegis Combat System radar components
2. Experience with track initiation, beamforming, calibration, and signal integrity with naval radar systems
3. Ability to analyze waveform quality, radar signal paths, and clutter environments for system validation
4. Deep understanding of Aegis Weapon System integration and fire control components

Required Skills:

1. Experience with Aegis Virtual Twin (AVT) environments or Tactical Cloud Reference Implementations (TCIR)
2. Knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) or sensor fusion concepts applied to radar
3. Familiarity with Surface Combat System Training (SCST)
4. Proven track record supporting R&D related to weapons or intercept systems
5. Familiarity with threat analysis, defense intercept technology, and layered missile defense systems
6. Experience presenting design details and recommendations to US leadership through White Papers, peer reviews, and presentations
7. Excellent technical and communication skills, capable of working in a team environment
8. Experience developing technical proposals and defining key development tasks and deliverables
9. Familiarity with software tools such as LabView, MATLAB, strong grasp of C/C++, Ada coding, and VME architecture
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
11. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations
12. High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and analysis
13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

Preferred Skills:

1. Hands-On experience with Aegis Combat System radar components, specifically SPY-1D(D(V)
2. Subject matter expertise in Aegis Baseline 7/9
3. Familiarity with the Common Source library (CSL) and SDLC for system implementation
4. Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools

Pay Range:

$164,000 - $273,000 or $198,000 - $328,000
