Job summary

You will bring at least 2+ years in medical devices, knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485, and strong communication skills as part of a global team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in medical devices.
  • Knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with disposables R&D or manufacturing.
  • Plastics processing with extrusion, injection molding, solvent bonding, RF welding.
  • Excellent English communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP.
  • Ability to use computers for word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

Your Role

Work on assignments in mechanical testing and material characterization laboratory that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel. Apply basic and some advanced techniques and procedures to assigned projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform a wide variety of research and development tasks and experiments in mechanical testing and material characterization laboratory per company procedures.
  • Perform detailed analyses and tests. Assist in compiling observations, analyzing data and interpreting results.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory levels, and lab organization.
  • Assist in writing reports, summaries, and protocols. Maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
  • Perform troubleshooting and coordinate calibration of equipment.
  • Build engineering prototypes.
  • Work with suppliers and procurement to obtain samples and products.
  • Utilize measurement equipment to complete product inspections.
What You’ll Bring
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in applied science or technology preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in medical devices.
  • Working knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485.
  • Experience preferred with disposables R&D and/or disposables manufacturing.
  • Experience preferred with plastics processing and secondary operations (e.g.: extrusion, injection molding, solvent bonding, RF welding).
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of quality systems and processes, manufacturing and product development processes.
  • Thrives in a multitasking environment and working with global internal and external partners.
  • Self-directed, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient use of laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP desired.
  • Proficient in recording original data.
  • Ability to use computer for word processing, spreadsheets, document retrieval, e-mail, business calendars.
  • Basic understanding of documentation systems.

The estimated base salary for this position is $58,000 to $73,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
