Job summary

Norwood Medical in Dayton, OH, seeks a Quality Manager to lead assigned manufacturing quality teams and drive continuous improvement in processes and products.

You will oversee QA functions, align quality with business goals, and ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading manufacturing quality teams.
  • Ability to develop leaders and set strategic direction for multiple teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional groups.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection procedures, blueprints/GD&T, and metrology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor assigned team(s) to ensure departmental goals.
  • Oversee quality functions and projects within the team.
  • Collaborate with leaders to align quality with technical and business strategies.
  • Research and develop new manufacturing processes for quality activities.
  • Manage full employment cycle including career development and engagement.
  • Provide final decisions within the quality team to achieve objectives.
  • Analyze financial impact of quality team activities.
  • Maintain and improve ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 compliance.
  • Ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
  • Prepare and present management reports.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Lead and manage assigned team(s) and/or support staff by providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure successful execution of departmental goals.
  • Oversee quality functions and projects within assigned team.
  • Collaborate with leaders to define and align quality efforts with the organization’s technical and business strategies.
  • Conduct research for quality activities including development of new manufacturing processes.
  • Manage the full employment cycle of direct reports including career development, succession planning, employee engagement, and creating a strong culture of innovation and learning.
  • Provide final decisions within assigned quality team to achieve business objectives.
  • Financial analysis and review of assigned quality team impact on the organization.
  • Adhere to all safety practices and support safety related activities.
  • Maintain and continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) to compliance to ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820 and other requirements.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are understood and achieved including interfacing as needed.
  • Prepare and present report-outs to management.
Skills
  • Proven experience in successfully leading teams within manufacturing field focused on quality.
  • Strong ability to provide strategic direction for multiple teams and develop other leaders.
  • Able to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams with minimal direction.
  • Able to oversee the management multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection procedures, blueprints/GD&T, geometrical tolerance, and metrology.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence within organization and externally.

  • Experience: Demonstrated longevity of at least eight consecutive months in previous employment. Top Candidates will have: working experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Adaptability: Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures; Ability to work overtime when required; Eagerness to learn processes and procedures in multiple areas.
