What You'll Be Doing
Oversee QC for 9 HMA plants
Provide technical guidance and support to ~8 indirect reports
Monitor/manage day to day compliance with specifications/targets
Heavy engagement with QC Techs on testing, customer complaints, statistical tracking
Perform hands-on lab work as required (Tech shortage, etc.)
Must be available as required for nights/weekends (assuming this will be salaried position)
Engage with Operations, Sales and Construction on product quality, bid specifications, etc.
Annual update of state required PennDOT QC plans, also ensure compliance throughout year
Oversite of daily DOT certifications
Identify continuous improvement opportunities (product and yield optimization)
Implementing required standards, processes in HM labs
Implement corrective action for any deficiencies found in labs or Technicians
Training and development of new Technicians
What Are We Looking For
PennDOT HMA Level 1 and Level 2 Technician certification preferred. Must be willing and able to pass the certification if it is not currently held
Solid computer skills, MS Excel experience is required
Demonstrated basic math skills
Must be able to left over 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to work independently
Strong communication skills to interact with customers, contractors and plant personnel
