Formación

• Minimum 5 years of software QA/testing experience.

Sr. QA Automation Engineer opening - Regtech SaaS Startup

Location: Remote

We are conducting a search for a client company that is seeking to hire a Sr. QA Engineer.

You would be working remotely.

The company's product involves SaaS, secure message capture, and regtech.

The company has 14 employee and 7 engineers. Revenues are growing rapidly.

The company has great work life balance (40 hours/week).

This position will be about 50% manual and 50% automation. You would own testing projects end-to-end, including test planning, execution, reporting, and working with engineers to identify and resolve software defects. You would develop and enhance end-to-end automation frameworks spanning UI, API, and mobile testing, while helping ensure the reliability of a platform that captures and archives business communications. You would also improve the company’s QA practices and SDLC, troubleshoot and root-cause failures, and help ensure high-quality software releases.

The company will pay salary of $120k-$140k in salary, plus equity which could be valuable.

Job Responsibilities

• About 50% manual and 50% automation.

• Collaborating with your fellow engineers to identify and resolve software defects and ensure high-quality releases.
• Maintaining and developing code for all end-to-end automation testing frameworks (UI, API, mobile), and further enhancing their functionality.
• Tracking and reporting test metrics, providing clear insights into test progress and software quality.
• Providing and implementing new perspectives and ideas to improve SDLC and QA practices.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Experience with modern UI test automation frameworks like Playwright, WebdriverIO, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API testing, using tools like Postman.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Advanced troubleshooting and debugging expertise to root-cause failures.
• Strong English writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues across the business.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt in a startup environment, including independent project ownership.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with offshore teams and demonstrating cross-cultural coordination.

Nice to have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with PactumJS and Mocha.
• Experience with the Vue web framework.
• Mobile automation testing experience with Appium or Swift.
• DevOps experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or an equivalent.
• Usage of cloud computing platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.
• Knowledge of performance testing, using tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
• Prior data validation testing experience using a SQL-based language.
• Experience with accessibility and/or security testing.
