Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Public Safety Officer to perform routine safety and emergency security duties across the hospital campus. You will be the first responder to incidents and will de‑escalate critical situations with sound judgment.

The role includes conducting Public Safety training and onboarding for new staff, and collaborating with colleagues to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees.

Qualifications

• 2 years in general security, military, or other public safety experience where actively carrying a firearm is required or equivalent training to demonstrate responsible handling of weapons and use of force.

Responsibilities

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years in general security, military, or other public safety experience where to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid Driver's license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required and
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required and
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Upon Hire Required and
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Upon Hire Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
