Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting seeks a Senior Property Accountant to manage the financial accounting for a portfolio of properties in Concord, NH. You will prepare and analyze financial statements and maintain accurate records, partnering with Property Managers and the accounting team.

Key duties include journal entries, monthly statements, budget-to-actual analysis, bank reconciliations, depreciation, year-end audits, budgeting, and reporting to lenders and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Property management or real estate accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and monthly financial statements.
• Complete monthly financial reporting.
• Analyze and explain monthly budget-to-actual variances.
• Review A/P, A/R, prepaid schedules, and cost center transactions for accuracy.
• Complete and verify bank reconciliations for all cash accounts.
• Partner with Property Managers to review property financial performance.
• Manage security deposit accounting; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation.
• Assist with year-end audits, tax preparation, and auditor requests.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare financial reporting for lenders, investors, and regulators.
• Support accounting system improvements and process efficiencies.
• Attend occasional Board Meetings and assist with budget-versus-actual reporting.
