Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Property Accountant in Atlanta to support property monthly closings and client service. You will manage GL processes in Yardi, prepare key entries, and analyze variances to ensure accurate REIT financial reporting.

You will interact with property managers and accounting teams, ensuring timely closings, accurate budgets, and audit support. A CRE accounting background and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, CRE accounting preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end closings for a group of properties using Yardi.
  • Produce and review entries such as straight line rent, AR, depreciation, and leasing costs.
  • Maintain work papers and monthly closing checklists for assigned properties.
  • Review payables, cash receipts, and fixed assets handled by others.
  • Collaborate with property managers to explain variances and monthly accruals.
  • Assist with operating expense recovery and annual budgets; support audit work.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support our client's Property Management as an accounting resource providing positive and timely client service and to perform property monthly closings in a timely and accurate manner to support the preparation of the REIT financial information.

Responsibilities:

  • All general ledger responsibilities within Yardi for assigned group of properties including closing the books on a monthly basis. (40% of Time)
  • Prepare/review the following specific accounting entries and related analysis: straight line rent, accounts receivable and related allowance for doubtful accounts, depreciation, amortization of leasing costs, prepaid rent, accrued property tax and the related expense, prepaid insurance and the related expense, other accrued liabilities and other account reconciliation. (15% of Time)
  • Maintain supporting work papers and account analysis for assigned properties, including a monthly closing checklist. (10% of Time)
  • Review the following related responsibilities performed by others for assigned properties (15% of Time): accounts payable/cash disbursements, cash receipts, and fixed assets.
  • Work with property managers to review variance explanations and monthly accruals, review/prepare portions of property annual budgets, review forecasts, and assist with operating expense recovery reimbursements. (15% of Time)
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time to assist the Real Estate Accounting Group, including but not limited to audit support. (5% of Time)

Compensation:

$80,000 - $100,000

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
