We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex custom retail packaging programs from initial concept through production and final delivery. This highly visible role connects clients, sales, manufacturing partners, and internal departments to ensure projects remain accurate, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has direct custom retail packaging or packaging manufacturing experience and understands the technical details involved in primary packaging, sampling, production, quality standards, tolerances, logistics, and invoicing.
What You’ll Do
- Manage custom retail packaging projects from requirements gathering and sampling through production, logistics, invoicing, and delivery
- Partner with sales to transition newly won business into successful execution and repeat business
- Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, deliverables, and success metrics
- Coordinate with artwork/design, production, logistics, warehousing, accounting, vendors, and sales
- Communicate with domestic and international manufacturing partners, including factories throughout APAC and Mexico
- Oversee factory sampling, quality expectations, production tolerances, approvals, and delivery timelines
- Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and develop contingency plans
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Manage multiple complex, multi-component packaging programs simultaneously
- Mentor Project Managers and oversee project performance, deadlines, and professional development
- Prepare detailed project information and invoicing documentation for highly customized orders
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Direct custom retail packaging experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of primary packaging and production processes
- Experience coordinating with domestic and international factories
- Proven success managing clients, deadlines, budgets, production schedules, and competing priorities
- Leadership experience, including delegation, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, calculations, reporting, and data analysis
- Experience with Monday.com, Jira, Microsoft Project, VersionOne, Project Server, or a similar platform
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Merchandising, or a related field
- Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop knowledge is a plus
