Job summary

TGC Search is seeking a Packaging Development Project Manager in New Jersey to oversee packaging programs from concept through production and delivery. The role requires coordinating clients, internal teams, and manufacturing partners, while managing timelines and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage packaging projects from development through production and final delivery.
  • Coordinate multiple projects, timelines, milestones, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary coordination point among internal teams, clients, suppliers, and production partners.
  • Track project progress and maintain accurate status information.
  • Identify delays, production issues, and supply risks and develop solutions.
  • Coordinate development of packaging samples, specs, and production materials.
  • Review packaging documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Confirm manufacturing capacity, timing and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure shipment and delivery.

Position Summary

A growing consumer products organization is seeking a Packaging Development Project Manager to oversee packaging programs from commercial approval through development, production, and delivery.

This position serves as the central point of coordination between clients, internal departments, manufacturing partners, and logistics providers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while keeping stakeholders informed of timelines, issues, and progress.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Manage packaging projects from initial development through production and final delivery
  • Coordinate multiple projects, timelines, milestones, approvals, and deliverables simultaneously
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination among internal teams, clients, suppliers, and production partners
  • Track project progress and maintain accurate status information
  • Identify potential delays, production issues, and supply risks and develop solutions
Packaging Development & Production
  • Coordinate development of packaging samples, specifications, and production materials
  • Work with manufacturing partners to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Review packaging and production documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Confirm manufacturing capacity, production timing, and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure successful shipment and delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Commercial teams
  • Coordinate information and approvals between internal and external stakeholders
  • Help resolve development and production challenges
  • Maintain clear communication throughout each stage of the project
Client Communication
  • Provide clients with regular updates regarding project timelines and milestones
  • Communicate potential risks, delays, and recommended solutions
  • Maintain professional relationships with client contacts and external partners
  • Ensure expectations remain aligned from development through delivery
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging, project management, manufacturing, consumer products, or a related environment
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with custom or specialty packaging
  • Exposure to consumer packaged goods or related manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with packaging production processes and materials
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturing partners
  • Understanding of supply chain, production, or logistics processes
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business collaboration tools
  • Experience using project management or workflow tracking systems
  • Ability to review packaging specifications, production documents, and related files
  • Hybrid position with regular on-site collaboration
  • Supports U.S.-based customer and product programs
  • May require coordination with international suppliers and partners
  • Occasional flexibility outside standard business hours may be necessary around important production or delivery milestones
