Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead large EPC projects in Power & Data Centers in the Houston area. You will oversee complex teams, manage scope, cost, and schedule, and ensure delivery to client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in related projects with an average of 15+ years including Senior PM level work.
• Experience leading complex large-scale Data Center and Power Projects focusing on energy infrastructure, electrical systems, renewables, and grid modernization.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering and possession of a PE license.

Responsibilities

• Safely execute projects to the client’s satisfaction while meeting cost, schedule and contractual requirements.
• Deliver value across financial, HSE, client satisfaction, budget and schedule performance.
• Act as the prime point of contact between the client and KBR.
• Ensure project execution aligns with company policies, procedures and requirements.
• Coordinate activities of project personnel, including in proposals, and define scope changes.
• Negotiate changes with the client and revise execution plans as needed.
• Keep client and company informed of project status.
• Lead the project management team to successful project completion.

Job description

Title: Sr. Project Manager, Power & Data Centers

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Sr. Project Manager who will, with general autonomy, manage large and complex EPC projects having a TIC value, typically, of up to $500 million+. This job role is independently accountable for a large staff or support arm of the organization or a single profit/loss or revenue center, major product line, or support function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power Plant and Data Center engineering, construction management, and project execution.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Assures safe project execution to the client's satisfaction, consistent with cost, schedule and contractual requirements while maintaining bottom line responsibility for financial success.
• Delivers expected results for financial, HSE, client satisfaction, budget and schedule performance.
• Serves as prime point of contact between the client and company.
• Assures the project execution is in accordance with policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
• Manages and coordinates activities of all project personnel by direct supervision, through subordinates or through joint ventures, alliances, etc. In the proposal phase, works closely with Sales to evaluate and interpret requirements. May serve as a proposal manager.
• Defines precise scope of work and identify changes between the original proposal and final contractual agreement.
• Negotiates changes with the client.
• Plans the project execution and revises the plan as necessary and assures adherence to the plan.
• Keeps the client and company advised of project status.
• Leads the project management team and is responsible for the successful completion of the project. Abides by our business ethics.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in related projects with an average of 15+ years which includes several years of Senior Project Management level experience.
• Previous experience leading complex, large-scale Data Center and Power Projects with a focus on large-scale energy infrastructure, electrical systems, renewables, and grid modernization.
• Skills typically required through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering and possession of a P.E

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Experience in Guaranteed Max Price, Lump Sum and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
• Familiarity with national & international power plant standards (ISO, ASME, API, IEC, IEEE, OSHA, etc.).
• Knowledge of contract management and FIDIC contracts.
