Job summary

DisplayIt, a leading designer and manufacturer of branded environments, seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex fabrication programs from handoff to closeout and ensure alignment of budget, schedule, quality, and risk.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Estimating, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Logistics, and Field Services in California and Texas, guiding teams and maintaining stringent project controls for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive project management experience in custom fabrication, branded environments, exhibits, architectural millwork, or a comparable build and installation setting.
• Experience managing a project budget, forecast, schedule, change orders, client approvals, vendors, and concurrent workstreams through manufacturing and installation.
• Ability to interpret construction and shop drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and bills of material and to discuss feasibility with technical and production teams.
• Working proficiency with project scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and enterprise resource planning systems; experience with Innergy is helpful but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Valid driver’s license when driving is part of assigned travel.

Position summary

The Senior Project Manager leads complex custom fabrication and branded environment projects from the approved commercial handoff through engineering, production, delivery, installation, client acceptance, and financial closeout. This role owns the integrated project plan, client communication, scope control, and visibility of budget, schedule, quality, and risk. The role coordinates work across Program Management, Engineering, Estimating, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Logistics, and Field Services in California and Texas. It provides technical guidance and coaching to other project managers without assuming direct supervisory authority unless formally assigned.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Project planning and execution

• Lead multiple complex projects or a major client program from approved estimate and scope handoff through closeout. Confirm deliverables, exclusions, budget, margin assumptions, milestones, dependencies, and decision owners before releasing work.
• Build and maintain an integrated schedule with engineering release dates, material lead times, production capacity, quality checks, shipment, installation, and client approvals. Communicate the impact of changes promptly.
• Run client and internal kickoff, review, production handoff, and closeout meetings. Record decisions and ensure the responsible department accepts each handoff.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve drawing gaps, finish codes, dimensions, bills of material, production methods, and installation constraints before fabrication; document approved revisions.
• Coordinate purchasing and outside services against the approved plan, escalating long lead items, shortages, capacity constraints, and alternatives with cost and timing implications.

Financial and commercial control

• Maintain the project budget and forecast using current labor, materials, outside services, freight, installation, and approved changes. Identify variance and margin risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Document client and internal scope changes, price and schedule impacts, required approvals, and change orders before changed work proceeds, subject to delegated authority and company policy.
• Provide timely status, forecasts, and escalation options to the Director of Program Management and other designated leaders. Support billing milestones and orderly financial closeout.

Quality, delivery, and client management

• Serve as the primary project contact for assigned clients. Set expectations, confirm decisions in writing, and resolve issues with transparent and timely communication.
• Coordinate readiness reviews with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Shipping, and Field Services; verify that approved specifications, finish requirements, packaging, site conditions, and installation plans are addressed before release.
• Coordinate installation partners and site work within DisplayIt’s contractual scope and applicable safety requirements; identify site issues and route work requiring licensed trade authority to the appropriate responsible party.
• Lead postproject reviews of delivery, rework, margin variance, and client feedback. Recommend practical changes to improve future execution.

Systems and team contribution

• Keep project schedules, purchase and change documentation, approvals, budgets, and status current in Innergy and designated project systems so teams work from the same information.
• Coach project managers and coordinators on planning, client communication, documentation, risk escalation, and financial discipline; contribute to consistent project standards across locations.

Work environment and essential activity

The role uses a computer and communicates with clients and colleagues for extended periods. It may require visits to active fabrication shops and installation sites, walking or standing during reviews, and use of required protective equipment. Performance measures

• Performance is assessed against agreed project goals, including milestone and delivery performance, forecast accuracy and margin variance, timely change order approval, quality and rework, completeness of handoffs and project records, client acceptance, and development of team practices. Targets are established separately for the assigned portfolio.
