Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Construction
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience
Schedule: 100% onsite at the Orlando office and/or assigned project sites
Travel: Approximately 40–60% to project sites throughout the Orlando area
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available
This position will support two major projects in the Orlando market:
- $90M Football Stadium Expansion
- $1B expansion supporting a new healthcare center and surgical tower
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will oversee major mechanical construction projects from planning through completion. This position is responsible for project financials, field labor, subcontractors, scheduling, procurement, safety, quality, and customer relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have extensive Project Management experience working directly for a mechanical subcontractor, with hands‑on experience managing large commercial HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and medical gas systems in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, budgets, and schedules
- Oversee project costs, field labor, subcontractors, materials, procurement, and overall project execution
- Review project estimates and establish job‑costing structures for labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, contracts, and other project documentation
- Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders
- Conduct monthly project reporting, cost reviews, forecasting, and schedule evaluations to identify potential issues early
- Track project performance and communicate schedule, budget, and operational updates to key stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams
- Develop and support field personnel, including foremen, superintendents, and craft professionals
- Maintain safe project environments through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
- Support construction activities within occupied healthcare environments while maintaining appropriate infection‑control and facility requirements
- Drive projects toward safe, on‑time, and financially successful completion
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of Project Management experience working directly for a general or mechanical subcontractor
- Hands‑on experience managing commercial HVAC and plumbing/piping construction
- Experience managing large commercial mechanical projects valued at $5M+
- Healthcare, hospital, higher education, stadium, and other complex commercial construction experience preferred
- Experience managing project budgets, labor, subcontractors, procurement, scheduling, forecasting, and cost controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will also be considered
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction practices, project delivery, and industry standards
