Job summary

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced PMO Leader to drive large-scale projects from concept through implementation. You will guide business analysis, define requirements, and ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and risk controls.

The role requires PMP certification, 5–7 years in project management or lending operations, and expertise in SQL, Excel, and PMO best practices. You will mentor project managers and collaborate with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience (required).
  • 5–7 years of experience in business analysis, project management, or lending operations (required).
  • PMP certification required.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • PMO leadership preferred.
  • ServiceNow preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, actively participate and drive all phases of large-scale and complex organizational projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed Project Management Process.
  • Responsible for the quality and timeliness of assigned projects and achieving desired results in accordance with business plan goals and objectives.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of projects from the original concept, definition of business requirements and processes through to systems development, testing and implementation.
  • Play a lead role in the development of PMO strategic plan, execution, policies, models and/or performance measures.
  • Coach and mentor project managers and assist them to solve problems.
  • Work directly with appropriate business units to understand project concepts, objectives, and scope.
  • Design, document and analyze division workflows, business rules, activities, and trends as it relates to current and/or future projects.
  • Solicit information through interviews, meetings, and existing reporting mechanisms.
  • Present actionable recommendations to management for consideration.
  • Establish necessary resources required to complete projects.
  • Build and sustain day-to-day relationships and communications with stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including executive level.
  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
  • Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escape to manager where required.
  • Document progress in accordance with organizational project management requirements from beginning to end.
  • Document and archive project activities, deliverables, tools and findings for future projects.
  • Comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements, including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to specific job duties.

What You’ll Be Doing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge and understanding of computer software and applications used to support report development and analysis (e.g., SQL, Crystal Reports, Excel)
  • Presentation software proficiency (e.g., Visio, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong experience in developing business requirements and process workflows
  • Ability to manage 2 to 3 organizational projects at a time
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio required
  • Financial industry experience preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytic, and project management skills required
  • Member/Customer Experience and/or Journey Mapping experience preferred
  • Prior experience and solid understanding of Scrum/Agile and traditional project management methodologies and practices, and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions
