Job description

A well-established and growing construction firm is seeking a seasoned Project Manager – Construction to lead complex projects across educational, industrial, commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use sectors. This role offers full ownership of projects from preconstruction through final closeout, with responsibility for financial performance, schedule execution, quality control, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion.

  • Lead project planning by defining scope, objectives, milestones, and execution strategies.
  • Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.
  • Build and maintain detailed construction schedules using Microsoft Project; proactively manage sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and schedule impacts.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer subcontracts; oversee procurement, material buyouts, and vendor relationships.
  • Manage all project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, back charges, pay applications, and claims.
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, and architects to resolve field issues and ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Perform site walks and progress reviews to verify quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
  • Drive project closeout activities, including punch lists, turnover documentation, and final approvals.

Qualifications – Project Manager – Construction

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, and best practices.
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Proficiency with project management software; Procore experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
