Job summary

Inventus Power in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer - Manufacturing to lead cross-functional engineering projects that improve safety, quality, cost and delivery.

You will coordinate with production, quality, supply chain and external vendors to ensure timely completion and alignment with goals. The role requires a mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering background with multi-year manufacturing project experience and hands-on improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience managing engineering or capital projects.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with automation, assembly processes, or equipment validation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.

  • Support process improvements, equipment installations, line expansions, and facility upgrades

  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers
  • Track project progress and communicate status, risks, and results to stakeholders

What You’ll Do

The Project Engineer supports manufacturing operations by planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects that improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This role works cross-functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with operational goals.
