Job summary

Huhtamaki Waterville, ME is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, install and startup electrical and process control systems supporting our manufacturing operations.

You will provide daily technical support, manage capital projects, and develop preventive maintenance practices while ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA, NEC). Strong PLC programming and DCS experience are required, with 3+ years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project equipment and control system design using PLCs and DCS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, estimate, install and startup systems in electrical and process control.
  • Provide daily technical support to Waterville operations.
  • Manage capital projects related to electrical and process control systems.
  • Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance practices around electrical and process control infrastructure.
  • Manage contractor deliverables, cost control and safety prior to and during project work assignments.
  • Maintain compliance with current regulatory requirements as defined by OSHA, NFPA, NEC.

Provide electrical engineering services in power system, instrumentation, and programming fields to support project work and equipment maintenance requirements. This role will support Waterville’s operations in a variety of technical assignments to create innovative solutions to technological challenges.

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project equipment and control system design experiences utilizing PLC’s and DCS systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong PLC Programming background.
Preferred
  • BSEE or BSEET degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a process controls certification.
  • 5-10 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
