Job summary

Huhtamaki, a global leader in sustainable packaging, seeks a Maintenance Leader to support North Mill operations. You will oversee maintenance teams, uphold safety, and drive reliability and uptime across production equipment.

The role requires a four-year engineering/technology degree (or equivalent) and 7–10 years of maintenance leadership in manufacturing; Lean/Six Sigma experience and CMMS proficiency are a plus. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory safety policies.
• Lead salaried direct reports in supporting North Mill operations.
• Collaborate with Department Heads to direct maintenance activities.
• Maintain and optimize production equipment and facilities to maximize uptime.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver process improvements through Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Utilize Oracle CMMS to log corrective work, schedule preventive maintenance, manage storeroom inventory, and support purchasing.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to achieve best pricing.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on capital projects and installations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Manage strict compliance of all company and regulatory safety policies.
• Lead direct report salaried employees in supporting North Mill operations.
• Collaborate with other Department Heads to direct activities of maintenance employees to effectively support operations.
• Maintain and optimize production equipment and facilities by maximizing uptime while managing equipment reliability through integrated preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and maximize uptime.
• Deliver effective process improvements through appropriate use of Lean / 6-Sigma tools.
• Utilize Oracle (CMMS) to log corrective work activities and schedule preventative maintenance plans, manage storeroom inventory and for equipment and maintenance material purchasing.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to achieve best pricing and support.
• Work with Project Managers on capital projects and improvement installations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Lead teams and optimize maintenance structure to best support N Mill activities.
• Analyze failure and performance information / data to develop actionable root cause insights, driving effective corrective actions.
• Must understand email communication, word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office Apps including Outlook, Word, Excel and others.

Preferred

• Experience working in an industrial setting is highly preferred.
• Four-year degree in engineering/technology is preferred or 7-10 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.

Environment

Office work area is a climate-controlled environment. Requires time in the manufacturing area (<50% of time) interacting with maintenance and production teams where it can be hot or cold, dusty, and a noisy environment. While in the manufacturing area, GMP and required PPE must be worn. Sitting, standing and/or walking up to 8 hours per day. Work schedule is standard for this role. This position may require some travel.
