Job description

Blattner is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer – Battery Storage to manage project transitions from award to design, oversee engineering firms, and ensure quality designs for energy storage systems and related infrastructure.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

1. Manage the transition from project award to final design.
2. Manage 3rd party engineering firms, processes, and standards to ensure reliable, quality, and safe designs.
3. Work with Blattner internal engineering and serve as the project lead in all aspects of project design.
4. Lead the design process through IFC design and act as the Company representative with the Owner during the design phase.
5. Align and work with the construction management team to ensure they have the design plans, quantities, and parameters to build the work.
6. Engage primarily in design work related to energy storage systems, underground collection systems, substations, SCADA/communication systems, transmission lines, and solar/PV arrays.
7. Provide training and mentorship for project and technical personnel.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related degree from an ABET accredited college.
• At minimum, an Engineer-In-Training (EIT or FE) certificate, with potential to become a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in 6 months preferred.
• Four or more years of progressive engineering, supervisory, and/or construction-related experience in related industries (heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation).

What Will Set You Apart

• Project engineering experience on renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, or BESS).
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred, especially in construction and electrical engineering.
