Job summary

Continental Electronics Corporation, a leader in RF technologies, seeks a Sr. Project Engineer to lead product development within an IPT. You will own technical direction, align across teams, and communicate progress with customers while escalating blockers.

This role demands a senior IC with strong design, risk management, and collaboration skills. The position requires 10+ years in electrical engineering with RF/digital systems knowledge, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Deeply skilled at translating system level requirements to functional areas for implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of RF and digital systems, as well as mechanical design.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills and the ability to influence others for optimum interaction with project teams, management and customers as well as creating required technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage customer’s technical expectations for communication to the project team and back to the customer.
  • Assess the feasibility of new business opportunities as well as develop & author technical proposals and contractually obligated responses.
  • Perform detailed technical analysis and design at the subsystem or system level using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys HFSS, Spice, Inventor, etc.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership on programs, working in collaboration with the Program Manager, to lead the development team to achieve the committed product functionality in the timeline of the agreed contract.
  • Ensure that all customer, contract and regulatory technical requirements on programs are met.
  • Act as technical expert to critical suppliers, including evaluation of the supplier’s solution, and testing, in terms of being able to meet the customer and regulatory requirements at the proposal and/or project stages.
  • Technical expert to lead engineering design teams to meet program objectives in terms of quality, cost and schedule (including on time delivery).
  • Anticipate and manage technical risks on the projects and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
  • Guide the Systems Engineering team to document and track program requirements and drive team alignment to said requirements.
  • Coach and develop junior Project Engineers as they manage their own programs.
  • Support site installations as needed, as the program expert, in support of the Field Service Representative team.
  • Champion & implement cross-team/intra-team collaboration and continuous improvement in product designs and engineering practices, with a mindset for subsystem reuse.
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.

The Sr. Project Engineer is a mix of a senior level Individual Contributor who leads program development(s) as the technical expert for products in their affiliated Integrated Product Team (IPT). This individual is responsible for product design, alignment across functional teams, regular communication of progress, as well as escalation of any issues/blockers. The Sr. PE Lead is the technical owner of the product development.

Pay may range from $135,000 to $160,000 annually

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
