Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering efforts for solar and energy storage projects in the Denver region or the broader Northeast US. You will oversee design through construction, commissioning, and project closeout, coordinating with EORs, engineering firms, and internal teams.

You will guide BESS system engineering (stand-alone, AC-coupled, and DC-coupled) and ensure designs, equipment, and submittals meet project standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience in utility-scale solar, BESS, or related infrastructure.
• Experience managing third-party consultants and EORs.
• Construction support and utility interconnection knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage EORs and specialty engineering firms through 30/60/90/IFC milestones.
• Lead BESS engineering across stand-alone, AC-coupled, and DC-coupled systems.
• Review designs, equipment, and submittals (PCS, transformers, switchgear, EMS, SCADA).
• Serve as the engineering resource for construction, RFIs, and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and drive consistent standards across projects.

We're hiring: Senior Project Engineer, Solar & Energy Storage (Denver or Northeast US)

Spencer Ogden is partnering with a growing developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale and community solar and BESS projects on a confidential search.

This is an owner-side engineering role. You'd be the primary engineering lead on assigned PV and BESS projects, taking them from development through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

What you'd do:
