Job summary

LVI Associates in the United States is seeking Technical Specialists and Senior Technical Specialists to support utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will provide technical leadership on design, studies, and interconnection work across multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of electrical power systems experience for Technical Specialist candidates and 10+ years for Senior Technical Specialist candidates.
• Experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP, OpenDSS, PSCAD, and/or PSS/E.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, utility interconnections, protection systems, substations, or renewable energy projects is desirable.
• PE licensure and NABCEP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise on renewable energy projects ranging from commercial-scale installations to utility-scale developments.
• Lead and support electrical system designs, drawings, studies, and analyses for solar, BESS, and DER projects.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic power system studies using ETAP, PSCAD, OpenDSS, and PSS/E.
• Serve as a technical expert for projects connecting at both transmission and distribution voltages, supporting up to 1,000 MWac.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality project solutions.

Our client is seeking both Technical Specialists and Senior Technical Specialists to support the continued growth of its Distributed Energy Resources (DER) team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and engineering of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and interconnection infrastructure, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, and survey disciplines.
