Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead a groundbreaking project developing a secure, mobile, containerized additive manufacturing cell. The role coordinates multiple vendors, the systems integrator, and subcontractors across the entire lifecycle.

You will manage the project schedule, define IT architecture and cybersecurity measures, and translate customer needs into actionable requirements for all partners while reporting progress to leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience managing complex engineering or manufacturing projects involving multiple external vendors and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management principles, including schedule management, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to track multiple parallel workstreams and subcontractors effectively.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve complex issues that arise between the various project teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Direct experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies and processes.
  • Experience with energetic materials processing or operations.
  • Familiarity with US Government cybersecurity frameworks such as CMMC (Levels 1–3) and/or DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements for Impact Levels (e.g., IL5).
  • Experience with system integration projects, particularly involving the development of custom manufacturing cells or automated systems.
  • Previous experience managing projects for government or highly regulated industries.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project or Jira.

Pay Range: $107,900.00 – $195,050.00.
