Position Description: Senior Development Engineer - Performance Contracting Industry

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing energy efficiency and sustainability projects for our clients, primarily through performance contracting. You will work closely with our sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, from initial assessment to design, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct energy audits and facility assessments to identify energy efficiency and sustainability opportunities for clients.
  • Develop and implement project scopes, budgets, and schedules, in collaboration with the sales and engineering teams.
  • Design and engineer energy efficiency and sustainability solutions, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Develop and manage project documentation, including proposals, technical specifications, drawings, and project plans.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations, and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, and provide regular progress reports to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee project construction, commissioning, and testing, and ensure successful handover to operations teams.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to sales and operations teams, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to energy efficiency, sustainability, and performance contracting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the performance contracting or energy services industry.
  • Strong understanding of energy efficiency technologies, regulations, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing energy efficiency and sustainability projects, particularly through performance contracting.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, with the ability to assess facility needs and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Professional engineering licensure preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
