Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) in Houston Westchase seeks a detail-oriented Project Controls Manager with exceptional scheduling expertise to join our engineering group on high-profile projects for major clients. You will drive schedule analytics, risk registration, and reporting, while enforcing controls standards across cost, schedule, scope and WBS.

The role requires 15+ years in project controls (scheduling, cost, estimating or planning), with oil & gas and engineering project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, PM, or related field, or 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 15 years in Project Controls scheduling, cost, estimating or planning; Oil & Gas and Engineering project experience essential.
• Fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based analytics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct schedule analytics to assess schedule quality, report on project progress, and monitor contractor schedule compliance.
• Collaborate with project management to identify, document, and mitigate project risks per standards.
• Collaborate with cost analysts to prepare and issue cost reports and forecasts.
• Assist in analysis and reporting of the corporate project portfolio, including risk relative to multi-year budgets.
• Manage data for all project reporting, including required regulatory reporting.
• Enforce project controls standards for cost, schedule, scope, WBS, and risk/issues on assigned projects.
• Conduct independent project assessments to ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Verify contract requirements include project controls and that contractors implement controls accordingly.

This is a prime opportunity to leverage your expertise on challenging, high-profile projects for well-known industry clients within our dynamic Engineering group.

Responsibilities

• Conduct schedule analytics to assess schedule quality, determine and report on project progress, and monitor contractor compliance with schedule-related contractual requirements.
• Collaborate with project management to identify, characterize, document, and register project risks, and develop formal mitigation plans per established standards.
• Collaborate with cost analysts to prepare, maintain, and issue required cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Assist in the analysis, optimization, and reporting of the corporate project portfolio, including risk assessments relative to multi-year budget plans.
• Manage and provide data for all project reporting, including required regulatory reporting.
• Implement and enforce all project controls standards concerning cost, schedule, scope, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and risk/issues management for assigned projects.
• Conduct independent project assessments to ensure project compliance and internal management standards.
• Verify that contract agreements incorporate necessary project controls requirements and ensure contractors implement controls in strict alignment with those requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 8 years equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree in addition to required years of experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Controls scheduling, cost, estimating or planning. Oil & Gas and Engineering project experience is essential.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
