Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Project Accountant for a leading construction client in Orlando.

This role oversees job costing, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with project managers and leadership to deliver accurate financial insights that drive strategic decisions. The position involves leading or supporting key initiatives, preparing monthly financial reports, and driving reforecasting and budgeting for regional construction projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing (WIP, budgeting, AR aging).
• ERP experience (not QuickBooks).
• Proficient with Excel.
• Experience with Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor job cost accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, WIP reporting, and small project schedules.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements using percentage-of-completion and WIP methodologies.
• Lead month-end close and year-end audit processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee ECAC (Estimated Cost at Completion) schedules monthly for accuracy.
• Analyze CIE (Cost in Excess) data to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Develop and present monthly financial presentations to regional teams (P&L, AR aging, etc.).
• Create and deliver financial projections and profitability analyses for leadership.
• Drive reforecasting and budgeting for regional construction projects.
• Implement and enhance internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with construction-specific accounting standards and regulations.

A leading construction client of Insight Global is seeking to hire a Sr. Project Accountant. This role is responsible for overseeing job costing, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with project managers and leadership to deliver accurate financial insights that drive strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor job cost accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting, and small project schedules.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements using percentage-of-completion and WIP methodologies.

• Lead month-end close and year-end audit processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Oversee ECAC (Estimated Cost at Completion) schedules monthly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Dive into CIE (Cost in Excess) data across projects to identify opportunities for financial and operational improvements.

• Develop and present monthly financial presentations to regional teams, including P&L statements, BIE/CIE analysis, AR aging reports, and other key metrics.

• Create and deliver financial projections, profitability analyses, and executive-level reports to support leadership decision-making.

• Drive reforecasting and budgeting efforts for regional construction projects.

• Implement and enhance internal controls to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with construction-specific accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and job costing such as WIP reporting, financial statements, AR aging reports, budgeting, CIE (cost in excess) etc,

• Proficient with an accounting system or ERP (NOT QuickBooks).

• Proficient with Excel - CPA.

• Experience with Sage Intact.
