Description

Join the dynamic Transportation Services organization with Amazon's TOM (Transportation Operations Management) team! We are seeking a talented Senior Program Manager to support our growing transportation network in support of network projects, programs, and initiatives. This role offers flexible location options across these offices: Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, New York, NY, Bellevue, WA or Arlington, VA.

As part of the TOM organization, you will be at the forefront of transforming how we plan for and operate our network of trailer yards. In this position, you will own the full lifecycle of complex, cross-functional, yard capacity planning. You will manage capacity and risk planning supporting a network of 500+ sites. You will work with network planning teams to forecast demand, build and use models to understand our ever-changing capacity, and define solutions that support the end-to-end supply chain. This role marries operational knowledge and exceptional statistical and analytical thinking as you will identify risk and influence upstream planning functions. In this role, you will communicate and collaborate with front-line to senior leaders in Operations, Finance, Planning, Engineering, and Real Estate. You will be a part of a high-visibility program that helps to define the future of transportation through each level of the Amazon Fulfillment supply chain.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify buildings at risk based on yard constraints and determine short term and long term solutions to solve
  • Lead strategic planning and forecasting for your defined area
  • Collaborate with customer and partner groups to identify and leverage data to make programmatic changes
  • Develop and automate models as needed
  • Manage and deliver results on complex projects across multiple organizations

  • Develop, implement, and govern Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects
  • Gather and analyze data to drive business decisions
  • Innovate to improve processes and continuously remove cost from operations

A day in the life

Your day will involve working on large, cross-functional projects. This will include managing project deliverables, providing feedback on site and program requirements as well as communicating progress and risks to leadership.

You will collaborate closely with business line stakeholders, central planning, engineering, and real estate teams to drive adoption and intake of yard capacity thresholds.

Throughout this work, you will need to think expansively about how network changes and yard constraints can impact operations and capacity. You will be tasked with constantly exploring new, innovative ways to drive improvements and efficiencies.
