Sr Program Manager, Defense and Government Systems

This position will be remote within the United States.

Job Summary

This role oversees impactful, large-scale programs for the Department of Defense and Government, focusing on healthcare IT systems. You will foster innovation, optimize operations, and improve patient care through technology solutions.

What You Will Do

  1. Oversee multiple, complex healthcare IT programs, setting strategies for government system development and execution
  2. Lead operational best practices design, creating robust scheduling, resourcing, and financial management systems
  3. Serve as the primary interface with senior executives, providing program status updates and supporting contract initiatives
  4. Oversee the development, design, integration, and delivery of large-scale healthcare IT products and sustainment services
  5. Act as the primary point of contact for senior customers across government and military organizations
  6. Ensure program alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder needs
  7. Monitor and control project progress, adhering to goals and deadlines
  8. Lead multi-disciplinary teams across organizational boundaries, mentoring and developing key team members while promoting an inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives and fosters innovation
  9. Manage Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality deliverables
  10. Coordinate proposals, business plans, and work statements for healthcare IT initiatives
  11. Liaise with internal customers on program business and financial activities

Travel/Physical Demands

  • Travel typically less than 10%
  • Office environment with no special physical demands required

Qualifications

What You Will Have

  • Extensive program management experience (typically 10-12 years), including success leading cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record in leading complex government IT programs, meeting quality, timeline, and budget standards
  • Ability to foster relationships with senior government leaders to drive strategic alignment in healthcare IT
  • Experience in healthcare informatics, electronic health records, or related fields
  • Excellent problem-solving, adaptability, collaboration, organizational, strategic thinking, and communication skills
  • Active Public Trust Security Clearance or higher preferred; candidates without clearance must be willing to undergo the process

Nice to Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Experience in healthcare informatics, electronic health records, or similar
  • PMP certification or similar project management credentials

The posted salary range is $127,000 - $175,000, reflecting the starting base for a fully proficient employee. Many factors influence pay, including experience, skills, location, and internal equity. The position is eligible for a bonus target.
