Job description

The Sr Program Manager of Managed Networks will manage the overall RUCKUS Managed Networks (RMN) business for two to three key customers (typically Service Provides). The role scope includes Program Leadership, Client Management, Issue Resolution, and overall program (share of wallet) growth. This role plays in technical and business strategy settings and requires planning and execution withing the RMN business. While not a sales role, there is an expectation of business development and client growth, working in conjunction with the sales team.

We are looking for a real go–getter, someone who can confidently and competently navigate complex service provider businesses (or similar entities) and influence technical and business outcomes. Good customer instincts, a bias for action, and excellent problem-solving skills are required.


Key Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to

  • Program Leadership: Lead and manage multiple complex, cross-functional programs from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership, product, engineering, and other stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues, create mitigation plans, and ensure timely resolution to avoid project delays.
  • Cross-functional Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate diverse, cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and work to implement best practices across the program and organization.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Establish program performance metrics, track progress, and report status to stakeholders regularly.
  • Change Management: Drive change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of new initiatives or processes.
  • Mentoring & Coaching: Mentor and develop junior program managers or team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Negotiating: The ability to influence key stakeholders and drive consensus.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Work experience can replace education. PMP/Agile certification is a plus.
  • Experience: 10+ years of managing complex customer issues, especially in wireless or network technology domains
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project Management Methodologies: Strong understanding and experience with project management methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to address complex challenges and risks.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in managing program budgets, cost estimation, resource allocation, and financial forecasting.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proven track record of identifying program risks, managing issues, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Change Management: Experience leading change management initiatives and helping organizations adapt to new processes or technologies.
  • Tool Proficiency: Strong proficiency with program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar).
  • Global Experience (since there is the possibility of expanding): Experience managing programs across multiple regions or geographies is a plus.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and drive consensus.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including, medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
