Free Market Health in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Program Architect to design, configure, and optimize client programs across FMH’s product portfolio. You’ll partner with Sales, Implementation, Product, Engineering, and Client Success teams to translate complex business and clinical requirements into scalable configurations.
You will lead governance standards, drive quality, and identify opportunities for innovation while advising internal teams on solution design and project delivery.

We are seeking a Senior Program Architect to serve as a strategic functional expert responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing client program solutions across the Free Market Health product portfolio.
This role partners closely with Sales, Implementation, Product, Engineering, and Client Success teams to translate complex business and clinical requirements into scalable, sustainable program configurations that support client objectives and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Operating as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, the Senior Program Architect provides consultative leadership throughout the client lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with business goals, operational best practices, and platform capabilities. This role drives consistency, quality, and operational excellence while identifying opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and long‑term scalability.
Client Solution Design & ConfigurationDesign and optimize complex client programs across the FMH platform.Gather requirements and develop scalable configuration solutions.Translate business, operational, and clinical needs into system designs.Ensure configurations are accurately documented, tested, and deployed.Program Architecture & StandardsApply best practices to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions.Evaluate non‑standard requests and recommend practical approaches.Drive consistency through governance standards and implementation frameworks.Identify opportunities to improve configuration processes and workflows.Subject Matter Expertise & ConsultationServe as the primary expert on platform configuration and capabilities.Provide strategic guidance during implementations and client engagements.Maintain deep knowledge of FMH products and functionality.Advise internal teams on configuration strategies and solution design.Cross‑Functional CollaborationPartner with Product and Engineering on platform enhancements.Recommend improvements based on client and operational needs.Communicate solution decisions, risks, and dependencies.Collaborate across teams to ensure successful project execution.Operational Excellence & DeliveryDrive high‑quality implementations through effective planning and execution.Ensure configurations meet quality standards and project timelines.Monitor solution performance and recommend enhancements.Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.5+ years of experience in healthcare, PBM, pharmaceutical services, or healthcare technology.Experience with benefit configuration, program implementation, and solution design.Experience supporting enterprise‑level implementations preferred.Strong partnership skills across technical, operational, and client‑facing teams.Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and systems‑thinking abilities.Ability to translate business requirements into effective solutions.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Jira, and related business tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.Commitment to quality, accountability, and service excellence.
