Our client is hiring a Sr. Production Engineer to join their chemical manufacturing team!

Job Title: Sr. Production Engineer

Overview:

The Sr. Production Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing daily operations within assigned production units. This includes process improvement, troubleshooting, equipment coordination, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with engineers, supervisors, and operators, and also includes participation in emergency response teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee production units while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations
• Monitor and analyze unit operations; maintain technical records and documentation
• Identify and lead process improvements to optimize performance
• Maintain up-to-date process safety information including procedures and technical data
• Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring preventive maintenance is completed
• Support engineering projects, new installations, and new product introductions
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support
• Help train and guide production personnel
• Participate in emergency response activities, including fire brigade, hazmat, and confined space rescue

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required; Chemical Engineering preferred
• At least 8 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with a focus on unit operations and team leadership
• Proven experience in leading projects, including process startups and commissioning
• Strong understanding of chemical plant operations (e.g., reaction mechanisms, distillation, heat/mass transfer, fluid dynamics)
• Direct experience with PSM/RMP-covered processes, including hazard analysis, change management, and pre-startup safety reviews
• History of driving cost efficiency and operational improvements
• Solid safety record in hazardous chemical environments
