Job description

Sr. Product Manager- Technical, WW Ops Finance S&A

Job ID: 10534400 | Amazon.com Services LLC

As a Senior Product Manager-Technical in WW Ops Finance Standardization & Automation, you will lead the vision, roadmap and execution for a combined charter spanning both data management/governance and data consumption by finance routines. We don't build data — we manage and govern it. Data management and governance is the critical function that ensures a trustworthy, reliable supply of data: the oxygen for the entire Amazon Stores Finance organization.

You will own the products that govern how finance data is standardized, certified, and made trustworthy (data platforms, metrics, governance) AND the products that let finance routines consume that governed data at scale — including reporting and financial bridging (variance analysis, carve-outs, plan-vs-actual composition). Applying AI to data management and governance is an exciting frontier for this role: you'll tackle the hard problem of extracting semantic meaning from a multitude of data ecosystems that often lack proper documentation, and translating that into use-case-specific, trustworthy datasets and metrics — a frontier with significant room to invent and evolve. You will partner with other Product Managers, Finance partners, Business Intelligence (BI) Managers, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs), and Technical Program/Product Managers (TPMs) to understand inputs from multiple internal and external sources and develop a product vision and strategy that connects the governed data layer directly to the finance routines that depend on it.

We have a strong vision and are iterating rapidly with incremental value to our customers — this role carries a highly visible charter and strategic significance, spanning the full arc from data governance to finance-routine consumption. This comes with a lot of opportunities to develop/launch a new suite of technical product capabilities to govern our data ecosystem and the services built on top of it, and to grow as a product leader.

About you

You’re an accountable, hands-on product leader with a strong focus on problem solving with a positive attitude, who lets nothing stand in the way. You know how to clarify the path forward and prioritize work while dealing with ambiguity and limited data points. You know how to influence others. You’re a natural collaborator equally comfortable talking business process with operation leaders, tech with developers, user experience with designers, positioning with product marketers, numbers with finance and marketing, and strategy with executive leadership. You stay the course on your vision, but remain flexible in how you achieve it, keeping overall success and incremental value to your customers in mind.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own one or more products spanning Data Management/Governance and Finance Reporting & Bridging Services: Be the ultimate owner of the product vision, strategy and execution across both the data governance layer (standardization, certification, metrics, metadata) and the consumption layer (reporting, financial bridging, and routine-level data delivery).
  • Champion the application of AI to data management and governance — extracting semantic meaning and lineage from sprawling, often-undocumented data ecosystems, and translating that into trustworthy, use-case-specific datasets and metrics finance teams can rely on.
  • Create and manage a unified roadmap, prioritization framework, entitlement model, and success metrics that connect data governance directly to finance-routine outcomes (e.g., faster bridge delivery, self-service reporting, reduced manual reconciliation).
  • Define how finance routines (WBR, MBR, MEC, planning) consume governed data — including bridging/carve-out logic, drill-down grain, and dimension inheritance — in partnership with the data governance roadmap.
  • Recruit customers to be part of advisors, share roadmap with customer stakeholders and partners across both data producer/steward and finance-routine consumer audiences.
  • Design and implement new processes to delight Finance customers at scale, from data producers and stewards through finance analysts to leadership consumers.
  • Implement and manage a Product/Program Management framework that ensures completeness of requirements and communication with stakeholders through scalable mechanisms such as business reviews, news flashes, and dashboards.
A day in the life

As a Product Leader in S&A, you are empowered to make data-driven decisions, articulate your vision and sell your features for implementation. You are expected to articulate your point of view with crisp communication, demonstrate ability to synthesize the inputs from your partners and stakeholders, and achieve alignment in harmonious way. You will proactively manage product backlog and work closely with your tech team and TPMs to ensure deliveries that deliver both value and take the product towards S&A North Star vision.

About the team

WW Ops Finance S&A Data Platforms team is tasked with defining the data governance strategy for Amazon Stores Finance and implementing it through scalable platforms and products. We don't build data — we manage and govern it, ensuring a trustworthy, reliable supply of data that is the oxygen for the entire Stores Finance organization. Our products span both how finance data is governed and how it is consumed by finance routines, supporting automation and standardization of planning, reporting, and financial bridging (variance analysis, carve-outs, and plan-vs-actual composition). A defining frontier for this team is applying AI to data management and governance itself — understanding semantic meaning across a multitude of data ecosystems that often lack proper documentation, and evolving that into governed, use-case-specific datasets and metrics. We build features and products that span the full data stack, from Medallion-architecture governance through to the finance-facing reporting and bridging services built on top of it.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of end to end product delivery experience
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
