Description

The Purchase Order Forecasting team at Amazon is looking for a passionate, visionary Sr. Product Manager-Tech to shape how we provide vendors with advanced visibility of Amazon's orders and ensure we are able to purchase the right items at the right time and at the right price to delight our customers. If you are excited by the challenges of building large-scale, innovative supply chain solutions for some of the most complex problems in the industry, this may be a good fit for you.

Our team is part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization. SCOT owns Amazon's global inventory sourcing & planning systems. We decide what, when, where, how much and from whom we should buy to meet Amazon's business goals and to make our customers happy. We do this for millions of items, for hundreds of product lines worth billions of dollars of inventory world-wide. Our systems are built entirely in-house and are on the cutting edge in automated large scale supply chain sourcing, planning and optimization systems.

Key job responsibilities

This role is focused on helping Amazon improve it's access to supply by designing & building systems to provide advanced purchasing signals to vendors. As a Sr. PM-T, you will be responsible for charting and executing strategies for both new and existing business and inventory management optimization products. You will wear many hats as product manager, business owner, partner, data analyst and technology evangelist.

Key Responsibilities Include

Building and managing high quality product roadmaps

Gaining support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership

Creating program goals and related metrics, tracking progress and managing through obstacles to achieve your objectives

Communicating performance, executing and articulating root-cause analysis and linking to specific improvement areas

Executing launches of new features

Partnering with key stakeholders to define product strategy

Promoting data-driven decision making throughout the team

Addressing barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders

Partnering with other teams across Retail and Supply Chain to identify and influence development of new products and services

Acting as an ambassador for SCOT

A day in the life

You are a great fit for the role if you are voraciously curious about Amazon’s supply chain operations, have immense bias for action and an excellent ability to deliver results even in the face of strong headwinds. You enjoy and excel at driving product development, leading cross-functional collaboration and managing stakeholders’ expectations. You have strong organizational, writing, and influencing skills and gather and use data to guide your decision-making.

About The Team

You will be joining the Purchase Order (PO) Forecasting team within SCOT. We owns systems, products, and programs that provide vendors with advance insight into Amazon's purchase quantities through long-term PO forecasts so that they can plan their raw material outsourcing, labor, and capacity accordingly, thereby improving Amazon’s access to supply.
