Technical Product Manager Hardware Integrations and Validation
About the opportunity:

Peskind Executive Search is recruiting a hands‑on Technical Product Manager for a confidential client in drone detection and security technology. The company brings radar, RF detection, Remote ID receivers, cameras, and other connected devices into a unified operational platform.

You will own hardware integrations from initial evaluation through testing, documentation, and deployment readiness. Working with Product, Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Support, and hardware manufacturers, you will establish each device’s capabilities, integration requirements, limitations, and deployment best practices.

What you will do
  • Coordinate hardware evaluations, testing schedules, equipment inventory, vendor participation, and internal resources.
  • Create repeatable test plans and acceptance criteria; configure and test radars, cameras, RF sensors, Remote ID receivers, and other devices in lab and field environments.
  • Evaluate detection and tracking performance, data accuracy, latency, false alarms, connectivity, and recovery after interruptions. Document configurations, firmware versions, test conditions, results, and limitations.
  • Investigate defects, provide reproducible evidence, coordinate resolution, and verify fixes.
  • Define integration requirements covering data fields, commands, protocols, authentication, and network dependencies. Translate vendor capabilities and customer needs into engineering requirements.
  • Maintain a prioritized integration backlog and work with manufacturers to obtain equipment, documentation, SDKs, firmware updates, and technical support.
  • Validate integrations following firmware, API, or platform changes. Maintain a compatibility matrix and recommend readiness based on test results and Engineering and Support input.
  • Create integration guides, configuration instructions, test reports, troubleshooting documents, and deployment guidance for sensor placement, mounting, coverage, power, networking, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Prepare handoff materials and training for Solutions Engineering and Support, keeping documentation aligned with released hardware and software versions.
  • Prioritize improvements based on customer demand, feasibility, reliability, and deployment needs. Communicate progress and risks, and use field feedback to improve integration quality.

What you bring
  • Approximately five or more years of relevant experience in systems integration, technical product management, applications engineering, hardware validation, or a related role.
  • Hands‑on experience with connected hardware and software systems, including test planning, failure investigation, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, APIs, SDKs, event messaging, and device configuration.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with examples of integration guides, deployment instructions, or test reports.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and collaborate effectively with engineers, vendors, and customer‑facing teams.
  • Willingness to participate in lab testing and occasional field evaluations.

A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience is welcome.

Preferred experience
  • Radar, RF detection, Remote ID, IP cameras, or drone detection systems.
  • Genetec, Milestone, ONVIF, RTSP, or similar security technologies.
  • Connecting cloud software with equipment or systems installed at customer sites.
  • Python, Postman, Wireshock, or similar testing and troubleshooting tools.
  • Outdoor sensor deployment and environmental performance limitations.
Your first 90 days
  • Establish a prioritized inventory of hardware integrations and testing status.
  • Implement standard templates for test plans, test reports, and integration guides.
  • Complete agreed priority evaluations and document unresolved issues.
  • Publish a compatibility matrix and deployment guidance for selected integrations.
