Job description

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced product and business leader to drive strategy, growth, and commercialization for our Lumber and Build Material software portfolio which serves independent lumberyards, hardware stores, home centers, and building materials dealers. The successful candidate will bring deep, hands‑on experience within the LBM and hardware industry — including a working knowledge of point‑of‑sale and yard operations, inventory and purchasing across flexible units of measure (buy by the bundle, stock by the foot, sell by the piece), contractor accounts and job‑based pricing, vendor and co‑op/EDI relationships, delivery and dispatch, and the margin dynamics of a commodity‑driven, cyclical market where independents compete against national chains. This role serves as go‑to voice on lumber and building materials, candidates must demonstrate established credibility with dealers, buying groups, and industry communities, and a proven track record of translating the unique pain points of LBM business and P&L outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own the strategy and growth plan for the LBM software portfolio
  • Define and execute the AI roadmap for field service workflows
  • Lead pricing, packaging, and commercialization strategies
  • Drive product investments based on customer needs and market trends
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams
  • Lead customer advisory councils and executive‑level client discussions
  • Monitor portfolio performance, adoption, revenue growth, and profitability
  • Prioritize AI, automation, analytics, and workflow improvements
  • Translate customer pain points into product and business outcomes
  • Manage and develop a team of Product Managers (PM Builders)
  • Serve as the executive voice of the LBM industry within the company
Skills and Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Industry Solutions, General Management, or Portfolio Leadership for a SaaS company (ERP is a plus)
  • Deep experience in the Lumber and Building Materials industry
  • Experience owning strategy, growth, and financial outcomes
  • Track record of leading cross‑functional teams (groups of 2-6+ direct reports)
  • Experience managing Product Managers and building high‑performing teams
  • Strong customer‑facing and executive communication skills
  • Proven success owning business strategy and P&L performance
  • Strong understanding or some experience with AI creating an application or prototype
  • Sit remote but travel up to 20‑35% domestically (occasional international)
