Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Product Development Engineers to Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Collaborate closely with test engineers to gather data, analyze product behavior, and work with system and platform teams to finalize product definitions. Develop and improve AMD CPU offerings. Work across teams to continue advancing AMD’s products and improve company efficiency. Collaborate with design, validation, and architecture teams for content coverage, test pattern development, validation, and debugging. Develop test program infrastructure incorporating latest methodologies. Solve sophisticated, novel, and non-recurring problems. Initiates significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads to development and implementation. Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce costs, improve yield and resolve quality issues. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

1.Developing automation tools and methodologies to optimize CPU performance and efficiency;

2.Performing hardware and software verification;

3.Product development cycles;

4.Scripting in C, C++, or Python;

5.CPU architecture or x86-64 architecture;

6.Software debugging using macOS, Linux, or Unix;

7.Git; and

8.Open-source software development.
