Job description

Sr. Product Designer, Prime Video Experience Design

Are you interested in shaping the future of live entertainment experiences?

Prime Video is redefining how customers discover, follow, and engage with the content and moments that matter most to them. Across live sports, breaking news, linear channels, and special events, we are creating more intuitive, personalized, and connected ways for customers to find what is happening now, understand why it matters, and stay engaged before, during, and after the live experience.

The Prime Video Experience Design (PVXD) studio is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Senior Product Designer to help define the next generation of live and intelligent entertainment experiences. You will lead high‑impact design initiatives across sports, news, and live TV categories, shaping how customers move from discovery and anticipation to live viewing, catch‑up, and re‑engagement.

This role is ideal for a senior individual contributor who thrives in ambiguity, combines strong product thinking with exceptional interaction‑design craft, and can turn emerging opportunities into tangible customer experiences. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Science, and Design teams to develop experience visions, build interactive prototypes, test hypotheses, and influence product direction.

You are equally comfortable framing a long‑term customer vision, designing polished cross‑device interactions, and rapidly prototyping new approaches. You recognize that great live experiences are not only about what customers see, but how the product responds to context, timing, personal interests, and the unfolding story.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end product design for high‑impact initiatives across sports, news, live channels, and other real‑time entertainment experiences.
  • Define customer journeys and interaction patterns that connect live discovery, event anticipation, viewing, key moments, catch‑up, and ongoing engagement.
  • Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear customer problems, hypotheses, experience principles, and scalable design frameworks.
  • Design intuitive, personalized experiences that help customers understand what is live, what matters now, and what to watch next.
  • Explore AI‑enabled and context‑aware experiences, including personalized storytelling, recommendations, insights, and natural‑language interactions, in close collaboration with technical partners.
  • Create wireframes, high‑fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and production‑ready specifications across devices and surfaces.
  • Rapidly prototype and validate new concepts with Product, Engineering, Research, and Science partners, using AI‑assisted workflows where they accelerate learning.
  • Drive systems‑level thinking and consistency across sports, news, and linear experiences while respecting the distinct needs of each content category.
  • Influence product strategy and roadmap priorities through customer insight, design rationale, experimentation results, and clear storytelling.
  • Present work to senior stakeholders, mentor designers, and raise the bar for design craft, collaboration, and customer obsession.
A day in the life

As a Senior Product Designer on the Sports, News & Linear Experiences team, your work will span strategy, detailed product design, and hands‑on experimentation.

One day, you may be shaping an intelligent live hub that helps customers navigate games, news coverage, channels, and special events. Another day, you may be prototyping how fans discover an important moment across simultaneous games, or exploring how a news viewer can quickly catch up on a developing story. You may work with engineers and scientists to test a context‑aware experience using real signals, then translate those learnings into clear design direction.

You will own meaningful customer problems while collaborating across multiple initiatives and surfaces. Success requires strong individual design ownership, a bias toward learning through making, and the ability to bring clarity and alignment to complex, fast‑moving opportunities.

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of design experience
  • An available online portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end product design work
  • Experience designing across complex customer journeys and multi‑surface experiences
  • Strong experience with modern design tools such as Figma and prototyping platforms
  • Experience building interactive prototypes that communicate concepts and validate customer hypotheses
  • Strong visual, interaction, and systems‑thinking design skills
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams in highly cross‑functional environments
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including presenting to senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing for sports, live events, media, or entertainment platforms
  • Experience working in rapid prototyping environments using tools such as Figma Make, Claude Code, or similar AI‑assisted workflows
  • Experience designing data‑rich and real‑time interaction experiences
  • Strong product strategy and service design thinking
  • Experience defining design frameworks, principles, and scalable experience patterns
  • Experience mentoring designers and helping elevate team craft
  • Comfort working in highly ambiguous, fast‑moving product spaces
