Job description

About Cleerly

We’re Cleerly - a healthcare company that’s revolutionizing how heart disease is diagnosed, treated, and tracked. We were founded in 2017 by one of the worlds leading cardiologists and is a growing team. Most of our teams work remotely and have access to our offices in Denver, Colorado, New, York, New York, Dallas, Texas, and Lisbon, Portugal with some roles requiring you to be on-site in a location.

Cleerly has created a new standard of care for heart disease through value-based, AI-driven precision diagnostic solutions with the goal of helping prevent heart attacks. Our technology goes beyond traditional measures of heart disease by enabling comprehensive quantification and characterization of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, in each of the heart arteries. Cleerly’s solutions are supported by more than a decade of performing some of the world’s largest clinical trials to identify important findings beyond symptoms that increase a person’s risk of heart attacks.

At Cleerly, we collaborate digitally and use a wide variety of systems. Our people use Google Workspace (GMail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Slack, Confluence/Jira, and Zoom Video, prior experience in these areas is a plus. Role or department specific technology needs may vary and will be listed as requirements in the job description.

While we are mostly a remote company, travel is required for some team meetings and cross function projects typically once per month or once per quarter, for some roles like sales or external facing roles travel could be up to 90% of the time.

Cleerly is committed to providing safe and effective medical software that meets customer needs and our intended use. The adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements establishes a clear framework for setting measurable quality objectives. Our commitment to continually improving our products and processes proactively manages risks, ensuring ongoing compliance throughout the entire software lifecycle. Understanding this role’s relevance and importance is critical to achieving Cleerly’s quality objectives.

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Product Designer, you will employ your mature kit of human centered design methods to facilitate alignment of stakeholders to solutions that meet real user needs. While you might do some wireframing and interaction design, you are just as much of a user researcher, an insights synthesizer, a problem framer, a sensemaker, a journey mapper, an information architect, and a usability engineer. You are someone who takes initiative, drives your design process, and doesn’t wait for internal Product Management or Engineering partners to tell you what is needed. In this role, you act as an alignment facilitator, leveraging a unique set of tools and skills to guide the team toward delivering user-centered solutions aligned with our mission to transform the standard of cardiac care and eliminate heart attacks worldwide.

About the Team

Cleerly’s leadership in cardiovascular care innovation offers significant opportunities for passionate and mission-driven individuals. You will join a high-performing Product Design function that is valued and supported by executive leadership. We are committed to driving measurable impact across our products with a focus on improving customer delight, increasing adoption, and ensuring scalability.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Product Design: Lead the entire design lifecycle, driving projects from discovery through launch, managing deadlines, and facilitating stakeholder alignment.
  • Outcome-Driven Accountability: Directly drive a quantifiable reduction in operational friction by designing highly efficient, scalable, and error-minimized workflow solutions.
  • Design Craft & System Stewardship: Apply superior information architecture, interaction, and visual design craft to all deliverables. Actively contribute to and leverage Cleerly’s design system to accelerate product realization and elevate the quality baseline.
  • Feasible Design Delivery: Serve as a core partner to Engineering and QA, understanding technical constraints and ensuring that delivered designs are viable for efficient implementation.
  • Strategic Influence & Thought Leadership: Serve as thought partner to Product Management, Engineering, and Clinical teams, actively providing informed design perspectives and driving strategic cross-functional decisions.
  • Evidence-Based Optimization: Conduct deep discovery-type user research, defining audiences and mapping workflows, to identify friction points and opportunities for improvements within complex multi-user workflows.
  • Risk-Based Design: Perform regulatory-compliant human factors engineering activities such as task analysis, use-related risk analysis, risk-based formative usability evaluations, and actively contribute to the cross-functional risk management efforts.
  • Design Advocacy & Communication: Employ outstanding communication and storytelling skills to distill complex workflow issues into clear, engaging narratives, actively amplifying the voice and business impact of design company-wide.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Product Design with a strong portfolio and case studies demonstrating expertise in complex B2B, analytics, and dashboarding solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative startup environment where changes are frequent, maintaining a positive attitude toward ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex products from start to finish with high autonomy, demonstrating a track record of driving and measuring quantifiable improvements in business and user outcomes.
Additional Requirements
  • Expert proficiency with Figma’s advanced features and familiarity with AI-powered user research tools for qualitative (e.g. Dovetail) and quantitative research.

  • Experience with rapid prototyping leveraging design systems and AI (Figma Make, Figma MCP Server, Lovable, 3Cursor, etc).

  • Experience in the HealthTech, SaMD, or other domains with complex data and specialized workflows.

  • Experience designing applications involving medical imaging or large-scale scientific data.

The base salary range for this role varies by location and is aligned to market benchmarks.

  • Candidates located in higher-cost labor markets, including California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC represent the middle to high end of the range, while candidates located in all other U.S. locations represent the low to middle end of the range.
  • Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

This role is eligible for a 15% target annual bonus, resulting in the following base salary and Total Target Compensation (TTC) ranges:

  • Base Salary: $166,950 - $192,180

*Total Target Compensation (TTC): Total Cash Compensation (including base pay, variable pay, commission, bonuses, etc.) Additionally, stock options, paid benefits, and employee perks are part of your total rewards.
