We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Product Manager or Senior Product Analyst to join our team. Individuals will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy, conduct market research, and analyze performance metrics. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in Excel, Tableau, and Power BI, and P&C experience (Personal Lines, preferred).

Compensation Grade: E3 Payband

This position may be filled at the E or F band level, based on candidate experience and qualifications.

Job Description Summary

As a Senior Analyst, you'll provide detailed data analysis in support of the Product Management team. This includes performing data extraction and analysis and formulating solutions to sophisticated business issues. You'll work as part of a cross-functional team on projects, systems, workflows and processes. In addition, you may lead portions of work that contribute to the overall project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather information from multiple sources, according to company guidelines, to perform analysis. May require gathering verbal information from internal subject matter specialists or partners and written data through reports or other external published or non-published electronic means. Provide context and understanding of information to anticipate variables and complexities needed for research.
  • Analyze data from various business processes. Work independently, identifying multiple inputs, variables and using business knowledge to consider the situation and provide a robust analysis and deployment recommendation. Apply judgment, understanding, and curiosity to data to develop effective recommendations.
  • Lead completion of analysis and tasks in assigned areas within established time and service standards. May oversee coordination and collaboration across team and project work.
  • Determine necessary steps to process work. Define data sets, data sources and assumptions needed to complete the analysis. Determine the most appropriate format to display data, options and recommendations based on the situation. Provide input on the rate review process for assigned products and on external factors not easily seen in the data. Make recommendations based on functional and regional knowledge.
  • Plan completion of assignments to meet timelines and service level agreements. May plan project work that coordinates with larger team efforts.
  • Consult with team and internal partners to resolve business issues and projects of moderate complexity requiring discernment or robust solutions. Gain insight into interpersonal and organizational capabilities and opportunities to drive maximum value. Identify gaps, trends and opportunities for profitable growth for consultation with portfolio team and other internal partners. Consult with leader and product manager about outcomes of analysis work and ideas.
  • Communicate with internal and external business partners by requesting or providing requested information. Assist in delivering strategic and technical information to peers, leaders and other internal partners. Communicate and present outcomes of projects within team and across the department, region and company.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with peers and partners to support ongoing assignments.
  • Participate in training, department and company meetings. Pursue additional education to increase personal, professional and technical knowledge and skills. May be a lead within the analyst group. Mentor less experienced associates and/or new hires as appropriate.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Product Manager or Product Manager. Individual contributor role.

Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Progress toward CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.

Experience: Three years of experience in property and casualty insurance or related area and experience with data analysis preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of analytical tools, core business functions, underwriting methodologies, performance measurement techniques, and systems required. Basic knowledge of related pricing, marketing, company operations and products. Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to analyze data, identify issues, devise solutions, select actions and follow through. Strong communication skills. Ability to organize and present detailed analysis and concepts. Ability to prioritize work/time.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, proficiencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some overnight travel may be required.
