SENIOR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Under general supervision, the class is assigned to the Department of Procurement Services responsible for coordinating and enforcing the city’s Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI) procurement processes for operating departments and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Location: 121 N. Lasalle 8th Floor, Midway or O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, IL.
Days: Monday-Friday
Hours: 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, plus four (4) years of work experience in the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts management and/or procurement of supplies, equipment or services, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.

The Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date. Staff will follow any and all required Employment/Hiring Plan provisions, federal, state and local laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements when applicable. Staff will apply hiring preferences as required by the municipal code.
