Job summary

Orbia Fluor & Energy Materials is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to provide technical support for plant operations and growth projects. You will serve as the primary technical expert, leading process improvements and ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.

The role emphasizes process safety management, optimization of daily operations, and collaboration with maintenance and capital projects. A strong background in chemical engineering and extensive industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing/process engineering.
  • Experience in major hazard production/engineering/EHS and large multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience in a highly regulated chemical environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and process data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, support and optimize daily plant operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in EHS, efficiency and production.
  • Support Process Safety Management programs (PSI, MOCs, PSSRs, PHAs, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot upsets and implement permanent enhancements.
  • Lead plant trial plans and evaluate data for process improvements.
  • Assist with environmental reporting and documentation.
  • Contribute to scope development, design reviews and start-up for capital projects.
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and turnaround scopes.
  • Design and size new equipment as needed.
  • Develop tests to optimize process conditions.

MAIN PURPOSE:

The Sr. Process Engineer provides first-line process technical support to the plant operations and to future growth projects to ensure safe and efficient operation.The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to the process unit designs and ensuring that changes or designs are compliant with company procedures and governmental regulations.The chief responsibility of the Sr. Process Engineer is to serve as the primary technical expert for the operations process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor, support and optimize daily plant operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement program for EHS, efficiency and production
  • Fully support Process Safety Management program, including PSI, MOCs, PSSRs, PHAs and all other aspects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process upsets quickly and effectively, sharing Lessons Learned and implementing permanent enhancements
  • Evaluate abnormal events and implement corrective and preventive actionsLead plant trial plans and evaluate data for process enhancement
  • Assist with required environmental reporting and documentation
  • Contribute to scope development, design reviews, and start-up support for capital projects
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and develop turnaround scopes
  • Designs and sizes new equipment
  • Investigates and develops tests to optimize process conditions
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Manufacturing process chemical experience within major hazard production/engineering/EHS with experience of supporting large multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated chemical environment.
  • Strong anaylitical, troubleshooting, and process data interperation skills.
  • Ability to preform standard chemical engineering calculations, e.g. fluid flow, pressure drop in piping, relief valve, rupture disc sizing, distillation calculations, recation calculations, material and energy balance calculations, physical property , and heat exchanger calculations.
Our Offer:

The compensation for this position is typically range from $140,000 - $170,000.

The compensation for this position is included above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
