Role Overview
This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of equipment and business processes in packaging operations. The goal is to ensure equipment is in-control, compliant, capable of meeting customer needs, and to drive continuous improvement efforts.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and enhancing safety culture.
- Participate actively in safety activities (audits, JSA’s, hazard reviews, etc.) to promote safety improvements.
- Take responsibility for the safe design and operation of equipment in the area.
- Provide engineering expertise as a member of the process team.
- Gain technical knowledge of equipment and processes, including understanding of flow charts, critical parameters, and master formulas.
- Establish and monitor control systems to verify and optimize equipment performance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment and operational issues.
- Support troubleshooting as the first line, involving engineers as needed.
- Use formal problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis.
- Respond to customer requests related to equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and maintenance personnel.
- Oversee Maintenance Tech/Engineering Tech support in the area.
- Evaluate activities for impact on equipment qualification and utilize appropriate tools.
- Manage system/component classification and maintenance strategies.
- Implement corrective actions from CAPAs.
- Participate in periodic reviews and IQ/OQ/PQ activities, including commissioning of new equipment.
- Develop scopes for capital projects and act as a user or delivery agent.
- Understand and improve equipment reliability.
- Coordinate with asset management to replicate improvements.
- Identify and drive improvement opportunities related to equipment performance.
- Set goals aiming for world-class operation levels.

Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 1+ year experience in a regulated industry, or an Associate’s Degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
