We are seeking a cleared or clearable senior level System Engineers with a background in Electronic RF Hardware Design and Testing for a critical role as a key contributor and leader on electronic hardware development teams. If you are always looking for the next problem to solve, this is the role for you.

Your Essential Duties:

  • Drive the successful technical completion of projects working closely with the customer.
  • Understand each project mission and architect the systems our teams are creating.
  • Guide a team of engineers from requirements through design and build, and finally through delivery and deployment.
  • Lead and contribute to technical work while ensuring the team is meeting requirements and documenting designs to demonstrate success.
  • Create novel solutions for challenging missions supporting our Nation as second to none!

Technology you will work with:

  • Projects range from radio frequency (RF) hardware and SIGINT sensor systems to Electronic Warfare.
  • Most emphasize requirements for low size, weight, and power (SWAP) while functioning within extreme environments.
  • Novel radio frequency (RF) waveforms.
  • Radio frequency (RF) domains covering VHF through microwave frequencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, science or related discipline and 9 years' relevant experience or Masters' in Electrical Engineering, science or related discipline and 7 years' relevant experience or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, science or related discipline and 4 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in two or more of the following:
    • Systems Architecture of complex sensor or comms systems, circuit card to fully integrated systems.
    • RF Performance Modeling and simulation.
    • Integrated circuit and electronics design of radio frequency (RF) sensor systems.
    • Experience in radio frequency (RF) sensors hardware design.
    • Requirements derivation & flow down.
    • Team Leadership in a Design or Test Environment.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • An active Top Secret Clearance to start (NG will sponsor).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Novel RF waveform design.
  • RF domain experience covering VHF through microwave frequencies.
  • Significant technical contribution in RF hardware (receivers and transmitters), DSP design, RF communication, signal collection, and/or EW programs.
  • Experience in designing complex system architectures.
  • Experience with the challenges in designing hardware systems to survive in harsh environments including terrestrial, airborne, and space.
  • Experience in SWAP design challenges.
  • Systems integration testing.
  • Verification and Validation.
  • Leading system and/or subsystem design with direct involvement.

Salary Range: $121,000 - $181,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
