Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Technology Engineer with extensive experience designing, deploying, and maintaining large‑scale, mission‑critical systems for government customers. Ideal candidates will have a background supporting Air Traffic Control (ATC) or other aviation‑related domains where reliability, security, and compliance are essential.

What You Will Do:
  • Architect, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure for high‑availability government systems.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering or systems engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience with large‑scale government systems, preferably within FAA or other ATC‑related programs.
  • Expertise with one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience implementing infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
  • Proven ability to design highly available, fault‑tolerant cloud architectures.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience working directly in Air Traffic Control or aviation technology domains.
  • Knowledge of NAS systems, FAA programs, or similar mission‑critical environments.
  • Familiarity with real‑time and safety‑critical systems.
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards applicable to government systems (FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
