Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Principal Program Performance Management Specialist (PPM / EVM). This position offers an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization supporting key defense services. Employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions enabling high-stakes national security missions.

Representative Duties and Tasks:

  1. Utilize experience in integrated performance management, schedule management, or as a subject matter expert.
  2. Lead teams across multiple programs in contract/program cost and schedule development, management, and analysis for engineering, production, or logistics programs.
  3. Manage programs with contract values typically over $50M annually and total program values exceeding $200M.
  4. Develop program cost and schedule baselines, analyze performance, monitor forecasts, and review results with program teams.
  5. Mentor and train team members.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert in program management tools and processes, guiding program teams and staff.
  7. Build and lead teams to develop time-phased budgets aligning with contract and program objectives.
  8. Analyze program performance data, prepare measures, and facilitate proactive decision-making.
  9. Conduct advanced analysis of subcontractor and material data, communicating impacts to customers.
  10. Perform advanced analysis on EAC, Management Reserve, risks, and opportunities.
  11. Prepare and present program review documents to leadership and customers.
  12. Partner with other functions for risk/opportunity management and financial analysis.
  13. Reconcile program data with contract modifications.
  14. Apply PMBOK principles to develop and implement processes.
  15. Define requirements to resolve business problems.
  16. Foster trust and teamwork, building collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  17. Coordinate with IPT leads and PMs across locations.
  18. Ensure timely and accurate program deliverables.
  19. Mentor teams to ensure EVMS compliance through audits.
  20. Lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  21. Develop IMP and IMS integrated with budgets.
  22. Apply schedule techniques to drive decisions.
  23. Integrate schedules and resolve logic conflicts.
  24. Create and analyze milestone charts.
  25. Mentor schedulers and analysts.
  26. Assess industry changes affecting PPM policies.
  27. Create and manage WBS, IMP/IMS for proposals.
  28. Lead efforts to automate business processes.
  29. Design tests for EVMS/scheduling tools, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
  30. Manage new EVMS/scheduling tools and tool redesigns.
  31. Train analysts in EVMS and scheduling tools.
  32. Support complex business requirements with solutions.
  33. Act as a change agent and manage process improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in proposal activities (WBS, IMP/IMS development).
  • Strong organizational, analysis, and communication skills.

  • PMI Scheduling Professional Certification preferred for IM focus.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Expertise in EVMS and scheduling tools.
  • Experience managing large, complex programs with EVMS requirements.
  • Knowledge of program/product lifecycle, material management, and financial processes.
  • Experience with DCMA and DCAA audits.
  • Understanding of defense or federal contracting.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to align and engage teams with company strategy.
  • Effective interface with leadership, customers, and vendors.

Note: This position supports remote work but proximity to Dedham office is preferred.

Salary Range: USD $155,000 - USD $170,000 per year, based on experience and location.
