Sr Principal Program Performance Management Specialist (PPM / EVM)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Principal Program Performance Management Specialist (PPM / EVM). This position offers an opportunity to enhance organizational performance and profitability supporting fundamental defense services. Employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions.
Representative Duties and Tasks
- Utilize experience with integrated performance management, schedule management, or as a subject matter expert.
- Lead teams across multiple programs in contract/program cost and schedule development, management, and analysis for engineering, production, or logistics programs.
- Manage programs with contract values typically over $50M annually and total program values exceeding $200M.
- Develop program cost and schedule baselines, analyze performance, monitor forecasts, and review results with program teams.
- Mentor and train team members.
- Serve as subject matter expert in program management tools and processes.
- Build and lead teams in developing time-phased budgets aligned with contract and program objectives.
- Analyze program performance data, prepare measures, and drive proactive decision-making.
- Conduct advanced analysis of subcontractor and material data, communicate impacts, and manage EAC, risk, and opportunities.
- Prepare and present program review documents to leadership and customers.
- Partner with other functions for risk, opportunity, and financial commitment analysis.
- Reconcile program data with contract modifications.
- Apply PMBOK principles to develop and implement processes.
- Define requirements to solve business problems and foster a trust-based team environment.
- Coordinate with multiple IPT leads and PMs across locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate program deliverables and EVMS compliance.
- Lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop integrated master plans and schedules, ensure schedule integration and conflict resolution.
- Create and analyze milestone charts, mentor schedulers, and assess industry changes.
- Manage WBS, IMP/IMS, automate processes, and evaluate new EVMS/scheduling tools.
- Train analysts, serve as a senior resource, and act as a change agent to improve processes.

- Ability to serve as organization manager backup and travel as needed.
- Prioritize tasks, demonstrate organizational and analysis skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking ability.
- Communicate professionally in writing and orally.
- Interpersonal skills, ability to work across locations, and thrive in ambiguity.
- PMI Scheduling Professional Certification preferred if focused on integrated master planning.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and expertise in EVMS/scheduling tools.
- Experience with program lifecycle, material management, financial processes, and government audits.
- Negotiation, conflict resolution, and team engagement skills.
- Ability to interface with leadership, external clients, and vendors.

Additional Notes
This position can be supported remotely; proximity to Dedham office is ideal.
Target salary range: USD $155,000 - $170,000 annually. Actual pay may vary based on experience and location. The posting remains open until filled.
