Job Description

Lilly is constructing a new advanced manufacturing facility for API molecules in Lebanon, IN. This site represents Lilly’s largest investment in manufacturing capacity, supporting current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to join the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, helping to establish processes and facilities for successful GMP manufacturing operations.

We are seeking Senior Principal Process Engineers to support our API Manufacturing Business in Lebanon. Process Engineering is vital for delivering our product pipeline across batch and continuous API production and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process engineers, develop process knowledge, support process and equipment operations, optimize processes, and manage equipment qualification and asset management.
• Support production in small molecule or peptides manufacturing.
• Champion the use of statistical methods and data analysis to monitor process performance and inform engineering decisions.
• Participate in root cause analysis and technical documentation review for equipment and operational issues.
• Identify gaps in process knowledge and support their closure.
• Develop key process knowledge including material and energy balances, kinetics, and chemistry.
• Support safety basis development for process equipment and participate in Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Reviews.
• Review equipment qualification basis and ensure ongoing qualification integrity during changes or interventions.
• Integrate mechanistic modeling and process simulation to enhance understanding and control.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment and processes.
• Support tech transfer of new processes and oversee equipment qualification and validation documentation.
• Guide development of test plans and return-to-service procedures post-maintenance.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Process, Chemical, Biochemical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in API manufacturing operations.

Compensation for this role ranges from $64,500 to $167,200, depending on experience and location. Full-time employees are eligible for bonuses, comprehensive benefits, including 401(k), health plans, paid time off, and well-being programs.
