Job description

Responsibilities
  • Perform various turbomachinery design analyses including FEA (stress, deflection, and modal), hand calculations, and rotordynamics.
  • Develop standard product deliverables in collaboration with Product Owners.
  • Execute mechanical design tasks related to new projects and product development initiatives, and support aftermarket activities and engineering tasks.
  • Communicate with vendors on technical solutions.
  • Support root cause analyses (RCA) of equipment and field commissioning and startup activities carried out by the Aftermarket Team.
  • Drive engineering and material cost reductions and competitiveness across project and product offerings in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure proper design and integration of equipment into the process.
  • Select components and materials for turbomachinery and systems.
  • Perform safety and operability reviews.
  • Collaborate with various subject areas to finalize equipment designs.
  • Check and approve manufacturing drawings.
  • Support the development of bid estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Business Improvement Team to develop new and standardized design engineering tools and work processes for streamlining projects and product development.
  • Challenge norms with alternate solutions rooted in engineering fundamentals.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise PD&I strategy aligned with HR and business priorities.
  • Deliver trusted, consumable, decision-ready workforce insights through standardized dashboards, descriptive reports, and consultative analytic projects for HR and business.
  • Own the people analytics product portfolio and roadmap, prioritizing work based on business impact, scalability, and employee experience.
  • Enable advanced and AI‑driven analytics capabilities in Workday and the enterprise data ecosystem with strong governance and ethical use.
  • Oversee the configuration, delivery, and support of Workday People Analytics and Prism capabilities to automate standard reporting, enable augmented analytics, and support self‑service while managing limits of prebuilt modules.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to translate workforce and talent questions and requirements into actionable insights, improve data accessibility, and support end‑to‑end HR lifecycle processes.
  • Manage delivery and analytics offerings by establishing SLAs, reducing ad‑hoc reporting volume through self‑service tools, and operating as an analytics product owner.
  • Establish and maintain HR data governance and reliability by managing HR data preparation, metric definitions, data cleansing processes, and centralized talent data repositories to enable repeatable and trustworthy analytics.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the PD&I team by building capabilities in analytics, visualization, consulting, storytelling skills, and HR domain expertise.
  • Lead compliance and regulatory‑related workforce reporting through collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure overall compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Technical degree: BSME or related degree, advanced degree with focus on turbomachinery design, rotordynamics, fluid film bearings, design for manufacturability, and/or manufacturing processes (plus).
  • 10–15 years of turbomachinery or rotating machinery design experience.
  • Detail‑oriented, goal‑oriented, organized, creative, self‑motivated, collaborative and customer‑focused.
  • Excellent analytical, creative, problem‑solving, time‑management, and decision‑making skills.
  • Advanced FEA capabilities (plus).
  • Experience with fluid film bearing, gas bearing, magnetic bearing, hydrostatic bearing, and rolling element bearing applications and design (plus).
  • Rotordynamic analysis capabilities (plus).
  • Turbine testing, data acquisition, and data evaluation experience (plus).
  • 2D CAD and 3D modeling and simulation experience (plus).
  • Equipment start‑up and plant integration experience (plus).
  • Programming skills: VB, C#, C++, Python, Matlab, Fortran, or similar languages (plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
