Job summary

Nexperia is seeking a (Senior) Principal Field Application Engineer to partner with customers across EMEA, driving design wins in strategically important Automotive and Industrial accounts. You will lead technical engagements, deliver product demonstrations, and guide solution design while shaping roadmaps with internal teams and customers.

The role requires strong German and English communication skills, a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar), and a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• University degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering and application engineering.
• Experience within Automotive and/or Industrial segments preferred.
• Excellent German and English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Drive design wins in target accounts.
• Lead customer visits and trainings for technical product presentations, demonstrations, and value proposition deployment.
• Lead PoCs and solution demonstrations to secure wins.
• Synthesize customer and competitive insights for product roadmaps.
• Manage design‑in campaigns to align with customer tech roadmaps and ensure timely information flow.
• Qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements.
• Articulate Nexperia's value relative to competitors.
• Share knowledge on technologies and product positioning within accounts.
• Analyze customer objectives to support the sales team.
• Educate regional sales on new technologies and product features.

About the role

As a (Senior) Principal Field Application Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical partner to both our customers and internal teams across EMEA. You will drive technical engagement and support strategic Automotive and Industrial accounts, contributing directly to business growth across Nexperia’s complete portfolio, including Wide Bandgap, Analog, and Power Solutions.

What you will do

• Accountable to drive design wins in target accounts

• Drive customer visits and trainings for technical product presentations, demonstrations, and value proposition deployment

• Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure the win

• Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps

• Runs project management of Nexperia design-in campaigns for assigned customers to ensure early involvement in the customer’s technology roadmap and continuous and timely flow of information to all necessary parties within the Business Groups and customers

• Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements and establishes Nexperia’s value proposition / position relative to the competition

• Qualifies the value of Nexperia’s products (strengths versus competitive products) and quantifies the technical benefits derived from choosing Nexperia

• Delivers ongoing formal and informal knowledge sharing and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial, and business impact of Nexperia solutions within their practice areas

• Analyses customer’s technical objectives enabling the sales team to be more predictive, effective and responsive to customer needs

• Assists in educating regional sales team on new technologies, new product features and their related business value

What you will need

• University degree (preferably Master’s degree) in Electronic Engineering or similar
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering and application engineering
• Preferably related work experience at a customer within the Automotive and/or Industrial segments
• Must have strong communication and presentation skills to drive communication with relevant stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Target driven, shows initiative and have an entrepreneurial attitude
• Willingness to travel frequently
