Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Principal Backend Engineer to join our Cortex backend engineering team. The team develops and maintains the backend of Cortex products such as Cortex XSOAR, Cortex XDR, and Cortex XSIAM. Most of the team is based in Santa Clara and Tel Aviv.

You will focus on developing, innovating, and scaling the Cortex Platform, contributing to shared infrastructure and components. We value candidates with a proactive attitude, passion for solving complex problems, and a desire to deliver value to thousands of customers.

Your Impact

• Lead cross-team technical initiatives and collaborate with product management, UX, and engineering teams.
• Drive projects from requirements to design and implementation, mentoring others as needed.
• Identify and address potential issues proactively, working with leadership to analyze and resolve them.
• Mentor engineers and foster cross-team collaboration.
• Design and optimize data models and queries using technologies like MySQL and BigQuery.
• Develop business logic and API endpoints with Python and Flask.
• Build backend services using Go.

Your Experience

• 14+ years in software engineering, with experience in cloud application development.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java, with experience in distributed systems.
• 8+ years working with cloud technologies such as ElasticSearch and Pubsub.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with cloud development, microservices, and security considerations.
• Experience as a technical lead or architect.
• Educational background in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Kubernetes deployment architectures and related tools.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions and developing custom Kubernetes controllers.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery principles.

Additional Information
